These include The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, Good Weekend, The Big Issue. Her book, The Upside of Down, was published in 2014 by Transit Lounge. For her ‘day job’, she works in health, promoting a more patient centred and inclusive approach to health care. She believes that we can improve the health care experience through collaboration between patients, families and staff. Although she was born in San Francisco, Susan has lived outside of the US since 19992 — in Germany, England, New Zealand, France and, since 2002, in Melbourne, Australia. Susan writes primarily about health and health care, parenting, cystic fibrosis, politics and culture.
